We finally were able to leave home on Tuesday Dec 28 headed to the first overnight stop Bessimer AL about 600 miles away, we didnt make it, after breaking down in Kentucky (the oil filler cap came off and sprayed oil everywhere, the Jeep got the worse of it) we ended up about 100 miles north of Bessimer in the Athens AL Walmart parking lot.
Wednesday was a pretty good travel day, made up seventy of the 100 miles we loss on Tuesday, spent the night in a Loves Truck Stop in Vinton La.
Thursday got an early start, no problems thru Houston, arrived at the campground Thursday evening (85 degrees)
Friday was spent setting up and reconnecting with old friends and eating shrimp at Dirty Al's
Saturday washed the bus, unloaded the scooter
